Minecraft island report

 Quite a while ago Mr abbot had gotten us Minecraft and it has monthly challenges and there is a desert island that we have to do and we had to build something on island what I had built was a nice house with lots of styles added to it and I also had some help to make a ship for the build we did not have much time left so we had to just come up with something real fast and the ship did not turn out amazing but for only a little bit of time left, I think it is fine. Same with the house I had used stone bricks and spruces logs at first it was pretty bad but after a while, it had turned out to be something that other people liked a lot. We also have to put photos on the document. The reason why we had done this is that the teachers wanted to see us all play Minecraft and see what we could build and I think my house had turned out really well even tho it’s not all done I still think it is very good. Most people had made mansions but we had just to make a basic house.

The Hut by the river

 The other day my brother and i both had went down to the river by our house to chop down some trees and find a new place to hang out. There is an old whitebait hut down there and we want to fix if up so then we can camp in it. We both found our own platforms on our own trees so we can have a nice view of the water and we had got the bushes out the way so we could see the river.

It is such a cool spot to hang out and you can fish from here too, and whitebait but the whitebait doesnt get past here too well.  There is a pot belly stove in the hut that we can use when dad is with us, and make a cup of tea.  We are so lucky to have a cool backyard we can do stuff in during lockdown, and lucky the weather has been really good too.

Lockdown #2

 It was a real surprise to be in lockdown again.  

There is not much to do in lockdown you can sit on the couch all day, or go outside and go for a bike ride or on the trampoline.  So I think it is really boring.  I would rather go out with my friends on my bike and do what we usually do, and thats go biking with our bike gang of mates.  We bike down to our gang meet up which is a vacant lot of land, then we meet up and do tricks on our bikes.  Then we stop by the On the spot shop and buy treats and drink, then we bike to my house and play on the console.  We take snacks to the bike gang and share with each other.  

I really hope this lockdown doesnt last very long.

Jasper's amazing really cool Olympics

Mr A had put on the Olympics for us all to watch and make a blog post about it.  What I enjoyed the most was the running and the kayaking. The thing I like the most about the running I found it super interesting because, I was imagining myself being that fast.  The kayaking was really interesting sport that I want to try one day, we have kayaks at home so I will attempt this one day.

I really enjoyed watching this because Mr. A put it on everyday and it made me really excited and when we got the gold medal we all just went crazy. what sport are you into?

It was hard work but I did it.

 We learnt about Harakeke flax weaving. and it was really hard.  In pairs we each made a bowl then they helped the other person.

We did this because we are celebrating Matariki and looking at our culture and the past.

I learnt not give up and it's always worth a try.

On Friday last week we had Athletic Sports at the High School grounds.

We did this to help us learn to be a good sportsman, and to compete with others.I was very surprised that I was really good at long jump. After the sports we did  clean up. I  brought my own bag but I did not find that much trash. By the end of it someone had found lots of trash and gave it all to me. Now i can say that i have a lot of trash.

Ruma Kereru's super cool amazing clued up kids

 Last Friday Kereru went to Clued Up Kids.Cluded Up Kids was at the Boys Brigade hall  and it was a thing that we had  to go to diferent places to know how to be safe.  The first one was about stuff where objects were in wrong places, there were some clothes on a heater and a plastic bag that can be bad for kids to play with and some newspaper that was next to a candle so the newspaper will catch fire and it will burn  a piece off it and it will fall to the ground and it will light  the carpet on fire .  Also some apples in a glass bowl which can be very dangerous if little children grab it. The next was about st John we had a plastic  knife that was stuck into people and we had to bandage it.

The Never Ending Tunnel

 A couple of weeks ago our class, Ruma Kereru ,was given the task of making an e-book that can be shared with the rest of the school. Mr A , my teacher said we could choose a picture from 'Pobble365 ' to write our story around.l My e-book is about a guy called John and he went down this tunnel. iIchosse the photo for the cover for my book.. all the year fives and sixs all went to camp for a week and we all did art at school my favourite thing that i did without the year fives is the jobs and art. My favourite job was on the PE shed. It was a lot of fun and we also had to do the assembly on friday. The assembly was my favourite thing that we did and the art we did was a dafadol. We had coloured in a dafadol with some pastels and cut it out and put it on a black peice of paper. Mrs King surprised us all with a Milo moring tea, it was great. This is a photo of us all enjoying our milo.                             
 

Tasman bubble

This an animantion we made it with Kotuku. We all watched a bubble movie and we made a bubble thing too. I had worked with Haki and Tasman to make this animaioton. Its about Tasman in this bubble and he goes through a portal and goes inside a tv with all the circuits, and the bubble pops and Tasman lands on an other bubble and he's safe. Thats where the animation ends.

Jasper's waka

this is my waka i used a paint brush and some water colour pencils and i used poly line to make my face. i made it by taking a photo of me and i polylined around it to make my face. when i had finished with it' it was printed out and then i glued my face onto my waka. what i did with the water colour pencils this that i went around the edges and then i put the brush into a little cup of water and then i brushed it onto the water colour pencil marks and i went along with the brush and i colour it in.

Kite

Here is the kite we made and decorated for this weeks challenge, it has not been windy enough to fly it yet.  We wanted to make a huge kite.  It is made from bamboo from the garden and large pieces of paper stuck together.  We called it the Night Flyer.

Anzac Day

We all helped mum make a large poppy for Anzac Day, we put it on the large Teddy bear we have outside for people can see it as they bike past.  It rained on the teddy and poppy but it still looks good.  We also helped mum make some Anzac cookies, they didnt last very long and we ate them all.

My Giant Fortune Teller

I made this Giant Fortune Teller all by myself, It wasnt that hard to make, and I put all the colours and words in it by myself.  I make these all the time but this one is my biggest one yet.  I had another big one but it broke, so now I made a new one., to make me happy.

Here is picture of the sun setting I asked mum to quickly take a photo of it because I thought it looked so cool with the clouds.

my new room

this is my new room, i have got a new carpet. the carpet is shape like a checker board and green paint, and shelves. I have got a nice and comfy bed to sleep in. and a play area and a tv and a couch. my brother's room is on the other side of the room.

hunting the good food

Jess from Foodstuffs came to visit us at school yesterday and she talked about food and energy. I learnt a lot from listening to her. We went to the supermarket with a pen and paper. When we got in we were checking for food that you can eat everyday. On the side of the box it told us what the contents were per 100g We wrote very good food and not very good food on the paper . It took a long time to find the right good food and the bad food. Have you ever looked at the side or back of your food packets?

If I was the school principal for one week. I will tell the teachers to make easy work get harder when all the children are doing a great job. I  will give them a break when they are tired. When they have finished having a break I will tell the teacher to make them go and work again. They can go home at 4pm.
